    UPS tail color?

But it's not in reality - it's UPS brown. This Wikipedia article has a bit about Branding/livery near the bottom (scroll to the bottom and back-up a screen or two). UPS Airlines

FedEx wants to install anti-missile system on its planes

I wonder if they could make it dual purpose so when some twat on the ground lasers an aircraft it incinerates them  Maybe it could kill nearby drones too :)

FedEx wants to install anti-missile system on its planes

I guess cargo planes go into higher risk destinations more than passenger ones, so it makes some sense. The A321 aspect could be because Airbus already have this option 'in the system' for that aircraft, so it's an easier solution to buy those than trying to retrofit it. Also the places where...

Plane hit by train on (road) crossing

This clarifies a bit of the story (guy who flies out of White man)

WHO advises people over 60, + those with comorbidity factors......and 61 passengers tested positive.

I don't think government dictated vaccination is workable in any country. There isn't enough trust for it. At the private employer or venue level I think it's OK as people do have a (theoretical at least) choice to go elsewhere, but it's still a bit of an ethical minefield. It's like smoking was...

Yes and no. Many people will get out there almost regardless of risk, but governments may still restrict travel if they feel that (eg) healthcare is at risk. Another aspect is that a large proportion of leisure travel is by retired people who have the time and regular, secure income to indulge...

Info? :ROFLMAO: The Tatler is not a name I've heard in years. It is/was a 'society' magazine, so never in my interest zone. Social media is a major source of ... stuff over here too, though TBH things like anti-vax, flat earth, UFOs and various conspiracy theories are global, so it's probably...

WHO advises people over 60, + those with comorbidity factors......and 61 passengers tested positive.

My concern is that it's going to keep bouncing, most probably each winter when, as recently with Omicron, a variant hatched over the summer gets into the wintering population. Then everything goes to pot again and travel becomes unattractive

We get most of our covid info from governments and the medical profession, so I found this item an interesting view of the longer term, especially if you are thinking it will be all over soon ... or anytime Life insurers adapt pandemic risk models after claims jump (Reuters, 5 min read) If you...

Sunwings Airline: YUL to CAN: Maskless partiers: Sharing bottles of Grey Goose, vaping, dancing on seats/ in aisles.

I may have been quite mislead by the media circus, but from the quotes of his I saw he didn't seem remotely professional - 'wishy washy' was what came to my mind. I wonder if he is someone who was 'stranded' by the pandemic and decided he fancied being a trip organiser. There are a lot of small...

Plane hit by train on (road) crossing

Intersect. Not necessarily in an accident. I've seen examples of any two of tracks/roads/runways, vehicles/planes/trains crossing paths, but can't recall seeing all three converging like this. We could also add water and ships/boats to the list ...

Plane hit by train on (road) crossing

Can anyone think of a time (outside Hollywood) where trains, planes and automobiles(ish) have actually come together?

Plane hit by train on (road) crossing

I'd assumed he landed on the road and ended up on the crossing, but a bit of Google mapsing suggests he was out from Whiteman Airport. The/a rail track runs alongside the runway, so it does seem more likely he put it down on the tracks, presumably because they were clear but adjacent roads had...

Plane hit by train on (road) crossing

As Roici says they are heavy and they have reinforced cabs to protect the driver while ploughing through cars, trucks and other assorted stuff people put in their way. And sometimes other trains. That aluminium airframe would barely scratch the paint. Actually, I was just looking at a still...

You're right. I typed it correctly in the link but then did the title and had a senior moment it appears. I've edited it now.

Plane hit by train on (road) crossing

That can take a while, so they might have but it was too late. Given the manpower that seemed to be there I wonder if they could have just pulled the whole plane off the tracks with the pilot inside. Might have been quicker. Also noticeable was the absence of the classic Hollywood fireball...

Plane hit by train on (road) crossing

I can't say this pilot was really lucky ... that would have been stopping about 20ft further on. Plane hit by train (Reuters today) I just noticed checking that link that it doesn't seem to have the video. I'm not sure if you need to register or go direct to Reuters to see that.
